SENIOR LEADERSHIP

Daniel Allen

Senior pastor

Dan was born in Houston and is married to Amy Allen. They have three daughters, one grandson, and a lot of animals.

Dan is educated and well versed in business having held many roles in Risk Management, Commercial Insurance, Negotiations, and Sales. He has spent 8 years in church plants and has had the privilege of 17 years in the position of Senior Pastor at LSBC. His personal calling is to “Equip Saints to Serve” from Ephesians 4:12. Each word is rich in meaning for Dan. Equip – Train, prepare, empower Saints – Your identity is IN Christ. You are who God says you are. Serve – Do something with your faith. Serve God. Serve others. Dan’s favorite books are, Mere Christianity, Pilgrim’s Progress, Experiencing God, Victory Over the Darkness. He enjoys history, hiking, science fiction movies, and playing softball.

Tim Dishongh

worship pastor

Tim was born in Houston and is married to Kathy Dishongh. They have two kids Jacob and Savannah.

Tim holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also earned a Doctor of Worship Studies /Theology, fulfilling a life goal. He has led worship with his wife Kathy of 20+ years at large churches, church plants, and BSF events worldwide.

Tim has a passion in discipling worship teams, mentoring worship leaders and pastoring in the local church. He loves exalting Jesus Christ and expressing freedom in Christ in every area of his life.
Tim loves eating a good steak, mole enchiladas, and anything chocolate. He also enjoys water skiing, hiking, camping, and roller coasters. C.S. Lewis is one of his favorite authors, along with the great theologian Charles Spurgeon.

Hernan Cancino

Director of spanish ministry

Hernan was born in Molina, Chile, and is married to Maria. They have one son.

Hernan worked in computing for the University of Chile as well as IBM. He has served as a missionary in Bolivia and Peru. Eventually, God called Hernan and his family to the US where he earned degrees in Biblical and Theological Studies, Human Behavior, and Spanish Language and Literature. Currently he is working on his master’s degree in Theology.

Hernán nació en Molina, Chile, y está casado con María. Tienen un hijo.

Hernán trabajó en computación para la Universidad de Chile así como para IBM. Ha servido como misionero en Bolivia y Perú. Finalmente, Dios llamó a Hernán y su familia a los Estados Unidos, donde obtuvo títulos en Estudios Bíblicos y Teológicos, Comportamiento Humano y Lengua y Literatura Españolas. Actualmente está trabajando en su maestría en Teología.

Todd Edwards

Facility Manger

Todd was born in Augusta Maine and is married to Hope Edwards They have three adult children.

Todd has been working in construction and maintenance for 30+ years and moved to Texas in 2016. His passion in construction can be seen throughout the LSBC campus, specifically in the Family Life Center which recently opened to the Kid’s and Student ministries.He feels strongly that his skill set should be used in faithful stewardship of God’s campus at LSBC.

Todd’s favorite hobbies include many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping.

Judy Hubbard

Secretary

Judy was born in Fort Worth. She has four kids, and twelve grandchildren.

Judy has enjoyed her many secretarial positions including working at the JCPenney Regional Office, and currently at LSBC. She has also been the Director of a Mother's Day Out, Yearbook Advisor for a Homeschool Co-op, and used her administrative skills when stocking, staffing, and running concessions for local sports organizations. She enjoys working as a floral designer and coordinator for unique events. Her spiritual mentor was a church secretary!

Her favorite hobby is gardening where she finds that this time is her personal one on one moments with God.

Jennie Offield

director of family ministries

Jennie was born in San Antonio, and has four grown kids, Caleb, Joshua, Rachel, and Daniel.

Jennie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. She taught in public school for 8 years as well as homeschooled their four children for 19 years. During those years she also tutored/taught homeschoolers through Alamo Area Christian Educators for 13 years. Jennie joined the LSBC staff in 2017 as the Children’s Minister which grew into Director of Family Ministries and started a Mother’s Day Out program.
 
Jennie’s Family Ministry vision is to share life, equip parents, and empower families. Her prayer and goal to accomplish this is to walk alongside families to equip them to be the spiritual disciplers of their children and support them through LSBC’s discipleship classes; Awana, Kid’s Church, and parenting support/classes. She also loves spending time with families by providing events that are engaging and fun. Jennie is a huge advocate for doing life together and loving the Lord!

During her downtime she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, having fun with family and friends, and camping.

Mike Reed

executive pastor

Mike was born in Corpus Christi, and is married to Linda Reed. They have three daughters, three sons in law, and seven grandchildren (four girls, and three boys).

Mike holds a BA in History/Spanish from Texas A&M, and an MBA from the University of Wyoming, Eisenhower School National Defense University. He is a licensed and ordained minister, and a teacher and leader of small groups. He is on the Pastoral Leadership Team at LSBC and has a passion to see the vision of LSBC realized through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

He is drawn to explore the richness of God’s Word and to understand and apply the second commandment like the first.

Larry McMurtry is his favorite author, and he enjoys family, golf, and football.

Tyler Ussery

Student Ministry

Tyler was born in San Antonio, and is married to Meredith Ussery

Tyler was a Small Group and House Church Leader for CCF, a campus ministry at Truman State University from 2019-2021. In 2019 he was a speaker for Black Diamond Camps in Seattle, Washington, and a retreat guide at Camp Eagle in 2018.

Tyler aims to equip students in their daily walk with Christ. In pursuit of these goals, he likes to have fun and hear students discuss their personal thoughts in all areas of their lives.

His favorite authors include Orson Scott Card, Timothy Zahn, Patrick Rothfuss, Tim Keller, and C.S. Lewis. He enjoys rock climbing, boardgames, and general nerdom.
