I am a "prisoner of the Lord" trying to "walk worthy of the calling" (Ephesians 4:1).

The path to being a Senior Pastor has been filled with unexpected turns. I graduated college with a degree in Finance and worked full time in the business environment. I was content & serving God as a deacon & teacher when God "called" me. I can only describe it as a time of "surrender". This happened when I was 30 years old.

Since then, I've served at two churches (Sonrise Fellowship and Dominion Church) as a children's pastor, youth director, small group director and discipleship pastor among other duties. I served in ministry for 8 years before coming to Leon Springs Baptist Church in December 2004.

Family: I married Amy in 1987 and we have three wonderful daughters. Jessica, Rachel, Rebekah. Amy is passionate about Women's Ministry, Freedom in Christ and horses.

Cody  is from the Houston area, coming from a small town called Waller, TX.  God called him to be in vocational ministry in late December 2002 and he began as an intern for the summer to the student ministry of Waller Baptist Church.  Soon after that he was called to a part-time position as Youth Pastor to another church in Waller where he served for 4 1/2 years.  Now he serves here as our Associate Pastor of Students and Communications.

Over the years, Cody has developed a love for cooking, golf, and graphic design.  Along with those things Cody has, with a partner, also owned a business called Rowdy Graphics where they designed and made t-shirts.

Cody's passion is to see people both come to know Jesus Christ in a very real way and continue to grow in life through God's design and purposes.

Mark is a San Antonio native. After high school he met Rita, his wife of 16 years, and they have two children, Simon and Madeline. Mark and Rita have both been involved in ministry for a combined 25 years with him leading praise and worship for most of that time. Mark’s desire is to see God glorified in every song that we sing and to magnify God during our time of Worship. He is committed to sharing the gospel through music to the church and community, and to see the lost saved by Jesus Christ.

My name is Darla Harmon and I am the Children’s Director. I feel it an honor and a privilege to be in this position. I am excited to set in place what I think is a great opportunity for children to learn God’s word and then set it into action, that’s exciting!  I know the Lord takes church leadership to a high standard. James 3:1 states,”My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.” I hope through His strength and guidance, God will show me His wisdom in what will be best for our children here at Leon Springs.

I was raised in a loving Christian home and at Jr. High camp I received Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I have been serving the Lord ever since. I have 5 wonderful children and the first 3 are triplets. After that experience we thought we were done but God had different plans for us. He gave us two extra blessings. My husband and I have known each other since high school and have been together ever since! We became members of L.S.B.C in May 2007 and jumped in with both feet. We look forward to seeing the church grow and are excited to be a part of it.

Leanna was born in Arizona and shortly thereafter moved to San Antonio with her mother and brother. One of her greatest priorities is her relationship with her family and God has blessed her with a large extended one. She loves kids and has always wanted to do something interactive with them. It is this love that speaks to her ambition of becoming an elementary teacher. Like her predecessors, she believes kids are never to young to learn about Jesus and His love for them.

It was the Youth Pastor that inspired her to apply for this job at such a young age. He gifted her with the book "Do Hard Things" which encouraged her to not let fear or her age hinder her from doing God's work.

Carol Jansen has been secretary at Leon Springs Baptist Church since 2004 and has been a member of this church since 1996. She loves the people here at Leon Springs Baptist Church and enjoys her job as secretary. She has grown a lot in the Lord and in the job since she has been here.

Carol has been happily married to Will Jansen since 1960 and has two wonderful children. Her daughter has been married to her husband John Bishop for 20 years and they have 2 beautiful daughters, Brittany (15years old) and Amanda (13 years old). Carol's son has yet to find the perfect mate but he has a very busy schedule with his work. Both of Carol's children and their families are active in their church and all, yes all, are strong Christians.

Carol and her husband have owned and operated a custom cabinet shop for 20 years starting in 1984 until they decided it was time to slow down. He is now working for a cabinet shop as a salesman and computer assistant. It was in the 20 years working in her own business that she got her experience in bookkeeping and secretarial work. God has blessed Carol with this job that she enjoys and working in the church puts her around wonderful people and the opportunity to witness to many who come in the doors for help and spiritual support.
