Dear God,
We read Thomas Edison made light. But in church they said You did it. So I bet he stole your idea.

Children are such an amazing blessing from the Lord. Here at LSBC, we cherish the time we have with them. Our time with them is so valuable and we want to use it to teach even the smallest children about Jesus and His love for them.

The focus of the “First Steps” Nursery Ministry is teaching and modeling biblical truths. It is a vision of our children stepping into adulthood secure in their convictions and grounded in the Word of God. It is a vision of the church supporting parents in their Biblical role as primary disciplers.

The “First Steps” Nursery Ministry for toddlers offers a curriculum, “Children Desiring God’s Promises,” on Sunday mornings from 9-12. The children have opportunities to learn concepts such as God Created the Earth, God Created Families, and God Made Me Special throughout the 3 hours that parents are participating in Life Groups and Worship Service.

The “First Steps” Nursery Ministry for infants has a curriculum as well. “Blossoms and Blessings” is a curriculum where infants are held and cuddled while looking at pictures of Jesus and listening to songs about God. Each infant is prayed over by a teacher or volunteer.

Job 23:11 says “My feet have closely followed His steps; I have kept to His way without turning aside.” Here at LSBC, we want to use every opportunity to teach children God’s way. –To give them the foundational knowledge needed in these first steps toward a godly life.
